Mitra Tabrizian

Born, 1952 in Iran

Amna Malik, of Slade School of Fine Art, contributed an illustrated text that looked at specific pieces of work by Tabrizian, to Exiles, Diasporas & Strangers, one of four books in a series titled Annotating Art’s Histories, jointly published by The MIT Press, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, Massachusetts and iniva the Institute of International Visual Arts, London, published in 2008 and edited by Kobena Mercer.

Conceptualising ‘Black’ British Art Through the Lens of Exile. Within this chapter, Malik looked at specific work, or bodies of work by three artists: Gavin Jantjes, Mona Hatoum and Mitra Tabrizian.
