Solo show at Wrexham Library Arts Centre 1995
Date: 28 October, 1995 until 2 December, 1993
Organiser: Martin Barlow
From the press release produced by the gallery: “Woven together out of a rich variety of sources, from personal experience to a deep understanding of historical processes, from an instinctive feel for the key features of the age to a wide knowledge of art history, her thoughtful meditations always achieve a unique poetic resonance. Consisting of paintings on canvas and on paper Beach House is a new body of work in which the artist uses the beach house as a means of considering issues of identity and history. It is an exciting and compelling series of images and also represents something of a departure for the artist, as, unusually, no figures of Blackwomen populate the structure through which she has chosen to articulate her musings and express her ideas.”
There was a 36 page full colour catalogue produced by the gallery to accompany the exhibition.
