From the acknowledgements (p.72 of the catalogue) “Trophies of Empire was organised by Bluecoat Gallery, Liverpool, Arnolfini, Bristol, Hull Time Based Arts and Keith Piper in association with Ferens Art Gallery, Wilberforce House Museum Moviola and National Museums and Galleries on Merseyside (Merseyside Maritime Museum) and with the financial assistance of the Arts Council of Great Britain, The Peter Moores Foundation, Ocean Group plc (P H Holt Trust) Merseyside Development Corporation, Liverpool City Council, The Civic Arts Trust (Bristol City Council) and Hull City Council. The artists were selected from an open submission by the organisers, in collaboration with Keith Khan and Gilane Tawadros, with advice in Liverpool from Dionne Sparks and in Bristol from Eddie Chambers.”
